Who The F is This F’er?
We are just an anonymous cartoon character on the internet who may or may not be financial professionals in real life.
There are rumors that we possess credentials as an actuary, financial analyst, risk analyst, and financial planner. Allegedly, careers have spanned asset management, insurance & annuity pricing and valuation, options hedging, and lots of consulting.
In short, we have been very successful across the finance world.
We are set. Our success is all-but-guaranteed.
And now we want to give back and help you figure out the world of personal finance.
Why Are You Doing This?
We may not be young, star-eyed Zoomers. We may be more a part of Gen X than the bleeding-heart Millenial, but we are grateful for what life has afforded us.
Over the years working in finance we have seen a major issue with how little most people know about personal finance. (It is almost like it is purposely left out of school curriculum to prevent people from succeeding)
To make matters worse, there are so many gooroos who repeat inane, nice-sounding, but ultimately incorrect, advice…it is easy to understand why most people are so confused about what to do.
Here is our way to give back.
What Do You Get?
You get access to years of knowledge working on cutting edge financial and insurance products that are built on decades of school and credentialing exams. (A single one of those exams will run you thousands in study materials then hours of working through 100s of pages of dense material.)
You get access to us, through comments, email, or DMs. Most of our posts get prioritized based on a question from a subscriber.
And you get nice synthesized information delivered with humor.
Where To Start?
We will try to keep this section updated as a sort of table of contents.
Retirement Planning With The ‘Tism Series
You have heard all the rules of thumb “4% rule, 50/30/20 savings rule, 60/40 allocations, Financially Independent Retire Early (FIRE), etc etc”. Here we actually show how all these rules hold up to a little scrutiny.
When you spend a decade analyzing and managing risk for $10s of billions portfolios, you view risk a big more holisitic (aka much f’in better) than most.

Life Insurance
Life Insurance is confusing. There is a reason that the hardest series of exams for credentials isn’t the bar (lawyers) or a doctor, it is the 9 (ish) exam series to be a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
Sadly, gooroos read a few articles by other gooroos and then confidently discuss insurance. We have a lot of work ahead of us fixing this advice…

Mortgages, car loans, credit cards oh my…
We will leave this catch-all bucket to fill in with all sorts of better financial advice. The '“no debtooors”, “virgin budgetooors”, and “credit card avoidooors” have been waging a war on common sense. Not to mention, they have a completely inconsistent worldview (pay off a 2.5% loan, or avoid that 0% APR new car loan, by paying in cash while talking about the 12% they are earning on investments).

Health & Family
On occassion, we like to talk about our other 2 favorite topics - Fitness & Family. Health tops all - you can have all the money in the world, but if you are sick and in pain it is going to be hard to enjoy it. Similarly, family is the reason why we do it. We had a lot of fun in our teens living a transient life, we could live on $10k a year. But with a family and kids, you want to make generational wealth.
Consequently, the more fit we are and the bigger our family grows, the more it motivates us to up our finances.
