The F’er family has spent the last week going to numerous Santa events. It is a joy seeing your kids full of excitement and anticipation. There really is something special about this time of the year. Magical even.

And it got me thinking…if I could have one Christmas Wish, it would be for everyone to immediately gain a full understanding of what Net Worth really means (allright, maybe that isn’t what I would actually wish for if given a single wish, but let’s just roll with it since coming up with semi-non-repetitive intros is hard).

As someone with an interest in most things finance and personal finance, I do have a list of accounts on twitter I check on and free email subscriptions to skim and see what is going on. And if there is one topic that is so dumbed down and misunderstood it is the concept of net worth and being a millionaire.

Everyday someone is righteously making a declaration about net worth while clearly not fully understanding it. Often they say a statement that is blatantly true and then in follow-up comments show they don’t actually understand it at all - as is often the case with gooroos, they are just parroting things they heard with no deeper thinking or understanding on the topic.

If you think you are a millionaire or just want to be a millionaire in the future, lets at least get you to fully understand what Net Worth Actually is because most everyone is doing it wrong.
